I started working with Justin back in August. Before committing to working with him I had bounced around from every “nutrition” program under the sun. I would start to lose weight then gain it back, plus some. I was starting to lose hope that I would be able to hit my physique goal while also maintaining performance. . Well, Justin showed me that’s so far from the truth! He provided me with the template for success. Multiple checks in a week to ensure that I felt confident in the plan. This journey has been a bit hard on me. I have always struggled with my weight/health and it escalated during Covid. I started Crossfit in 2017 and was making great progress with myself, confidence was growing, making new friends, pushing myself out of my comfort zone like do Spartan races. (Which I never thought I ever would!) I still struggled with my weight and my relationship with food during that time. I learned about macros, trying to balance healthy food that my family and I would eat, but at that time… I felt I still needed work. Covid hit, worked at home, worked out at home but I desperately missed actually going to the gym. Skip the boring stuff… I allowed myself to get lazy and I gained about 40 pounds.

Justin found me on FB and we talked for a long time waiting for my divorce and things to settle so I could take the time to focus on me. The number on the scale is evil, but what I began to worry about was about how I felt in my body, bending over, how I felt in my clothes, and my confidence was disappearing. I needed help, everything I tried to do on my own didn’t work and it usually lead to me not eating enough or not eating the best foods. I started working with Justyna about 5 months ago and it was the best decision I made for myself. She worked with me, understood me, my needs and how to take control of my life and schedule. We defiantly had our ups and downs, mostly me LOL, I had a hard time seeing and feeling the changes that were happening. I needed her support and guidance more than I knew to keep to my blueprints and to keep working, don’t give up!!

I can’t believe how much has changed in these last few months. Not fitness related, but I am now engaged and living my best life with my husband to be and my daughter. My heart feels so full it could explode at any moment. My other wins are my relationship with food is completely different and I enjoy it all! I understand its ok to have my mother in laws cooking, its authentic Colombian food, EAT THE FOOD and don’t stress! I also recently joined a Crossfit gym that is local to where I live and not an hour away by my old office. The support of my partner and the gym and what it means to me. Thanks to my neighbor and Justyna, I was given an air fryer and Justyna talked me into trying it and now I air fry everything I can! I make it a point to go to the local meat and farmers market every week too. Besides the savings it makes an impact to small business owners and less plastic waste. I am going to keep working on myself, use the knowledge I have gained and keep moving towards my goals. I have a long way to go to try and get to pre-covid self, but I know that I can make it happen! Working with Justyna Marie Dapuzzo is simply one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve had many coaches over the years but hands down none have been as supportive and in-tune with my goals as Justyna has been. I have been working with coach Kayla, who is fabulous by the way, and I can't believe how easy it has been to get where I'm at! When I started working out, I thought it was a free pass to eat whatever I wanted....but quickly learned that you can't out-exercise a poor diet. So I did what most crossfitters do, I downloaded MyFitnessPal and started tracking macros. And don't get me wrong, it worked and helped me shed some weight....but it became an OBSESSION with me. I stressed over every single thing that I ate and how it fit into my macros...it was all I thought about.

So I got fed up and I stopped tracking....kept working out, but the weight stayed the same because I was back to being all over the place with my nutrition. Then I started with CBG in January of this year, got my blueprints, and began working with nutrition coaches who encouraged me and really helped me change the way I look at food and what's on my plate. Quickly I moved past my plateau and was able to drop another 20 pounds.

I turned 40 this month and I feel better and stronger now than I did in my twenties! I'm excited to continue my journey and soon reach my ultimate goal with this new way of thinking (not OBSESSING) about nutrition.

I have had years of struggling with my weight, especially after college and no longer being a competitive athlete, I have packed in so much weight over the years. I started doing CrossFit 3 years ago and had been advised to do Macros, which led to me gaining even more weight, it was so frustrating! I started with Justyna the last week of September. She was so easy to work with, she provided the blueprints for me to follow, I checked in weekly, and she was there to answer any questions I had at anytime. I learned I was under eating and I was fixated on the scale. Justyna told me not to focus on the scale, but how I felt, how my clothes fit, to take progress pics, etc. I can’t lie, fixating on the scale is a hard habit to break, I didn’t notice the changes in my body because I see it day to day, but I kept the path and the proof is in the pictures I guess. It’s only 10lbs difference in weight, but I see it now, I do look different. Not only that, I feel better; I’m moving better in workouts and I’m hitting PRs. There’s more benefits to this program than just the scale and how you look. “Working with Justin and his team, at Consistency Breeds Growth, has helped take my athletic performance to the next level. Always putting hard work into YEARS of training, once it was finally combined with a personalized nutritional plan, I saw the results I never thought I would achieve. I have had the pleasure of having Emili as my nutrition coach for about 10 weeks. Emili is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and caring. My goal is/was to lose about 5lbs. The goal was to lose the weight and no strength to make sure I did not worry about making weight after traveling to compete at the Masters Nationals Weightlifting meet. Emili was very knowledgeable when I was traveling to an area that I might not be able to get perfect foods. On our weekly calls she makes sure that I know what changes she made to my blueprint and that I understood them. And was always there when I contacted her after the call to ask more questions. The weekly emails would touch on subjects that would give me more information to make great decisions.

TODAY is a great freakin day!! I have been working the CBG nutrition plan with Justin since November, and TODAY I hit my weight goal. I am most definitely a scaled CrossFit athlete. I had not really exercised until I started CrossFit at 47. I am now 54. I actually have a hard time calling myself an “athlete”. I have NO plans to go to the games, and probably will never be comfortable being upside down. Box jumps scare the bajesus out of me, and double unders allude me. But I also am not content with this growing old gracefully sentiment. I AM committed to keeping my body moving and becoming stronger so I CAN continue doing all the things I love. TODAY I weighed in at 139.5, my goal was 140. I started at 153lbs. And I completely know that this is a way of eating I can maintain over time. I came into CBG after using a popular macro counting app for about 1.5 - 2 years. I had completed a successful cut, but then found myself becoming a bit obsessive about weighing food and entering food into the app. I was getting tired and then stopped seeing results. I saw Justin's post on FB about having an exit plan if you're counting macros and decided I needed to reach out. I'm so glad I did! Justin was extremely informative in our initial call and then paired me with the amazing Coach Justyna. From day 1, Justyna has been friendly and fantastic! Week 4 of clean eating and I feel more confident in my own skin. I have significantly less stomach bloat and “fluffiness” as I like to call it. I have been tested significantly by celebrating my dad’s birthday which forced me to apply my macro knowledge to sushi options. I’m fortunate to have Coach Justin only a text away to guide me towards achieving my macros each meal. I have been sending him a photo of my meals to stay accountable for my healthy eating. He never judges me when I’m a little off and provides invaluable support and motivation at all hours of the day. I feel lucky to have Justin in my corner. This week wasn’t all rainbows. I started strong the first few days.

I realized that when I truly stick to my portions, I’m full for longer. If I don’t… the urges for snacking come… with a vengeance. I honored my cravings with healthier options, but never once skipped a meal! I also learned the importance of planning each meal ahead of time because trying to cook every night doesn’t work for my extremely busy schedule. Moving forward, I am developing new signature, go-to, (simple) meals that I can incorporate into my diet. I am starting from zero, so in 7 days, I have come a long way. Way more to go.

always worked out hard and tried to eat healthy but until I spoke with Justin, I didn’t realize how messed up my diet was. In 2019 a doctor told me that I was close to getting diabetes in my early 30’s, I knew something needed to change immediately. Coincidentally my gym was starting up a diet/weight-loss challenge and Justin pushed me to sign up. I’m grateful he did. With his help I learned what foods not to eat and what foods to take in more of. Through tracking calories and macros, I realized that I was eating almost double the number of calories someone my size should be taking in each day. I started with Justin in January and my goal was to gain weight for performance. I wanted to put on size to help me be able to compete at the highest level. My relationship with food wasn’t the best, I’d go full training days and comps with eating a meal and some shakes. Now I’m consistently eating 3-4 meals and shakes around my training!


On the left was my first check in picture weighing 170#. Today I weighed 185#! Not a crazy transformation but I’ve gained size, strength, and am fitter than ever before! Stay disciplined.

“I’m 38 years old, a single mom and business owner. I’ve been active my entire life – but truly started drinking from the CrossFit fire hydrant about 10 years ago. Not only do I have the confidence and self-worth back, that I know I can show to my daughter, but I have the knowledge and peace of mind that will last for a lifetime. “I honestly don't even know where to start. I have been very active my entire life, from playing college level softball, to just loving the gym and then finding Crossfit a little over year ago. "I was always poorly balancing my diets with my workouts. I was always worried about overeating and gaining weight, which lead to under eating and performing poorly in the gym. This cycle continued for about 2 years until I reached out to Justin who opened an entirely new world of intrinsic eating. Never again will I have to worry about entering every macro into a calculator or phone app, and can simply gauge exactly what I need to eat with a quick visual look. This is by far the most sustainable diet (if you can even call it that), I have ever been on and will be eating intrinsically long term. I'm currently on week 11 of my 16 week body recomp cycle, as my goals weren't to gain or lose too much weight, but to keep up performance in the gym while trimming some of the fat. In the past 11 weeks I've hit PR's in my Front Squat, Back Squat, Clean, Split Jerk, and Snatch Balance, burned off body fat, and increased my cardio. The crazy part is I keep seeing more and more results, whether subtle things like new muscle definition I've never noticed in the mirror before, or crushing new PR's each week. I only paid for a 16 week body recomp diet, but I sure as hell got a lifetime's worth of coaching and advice. "Let’s talk about nutrition. I have been fighting professionally for 7 years, 6 of those in the UFC. I started my MMA career very young and with that had very little true knowledge of diet and health. I had always been very fit and athletic but never knew how much of a science nutrition is. As I get older I naturally gained weight. I noticed making 115lbs for competition was getting harder and harder. “No better time for this post than my birthday!! My last year in my 30’s and I have to say it’s the best I’ve ever felt. I got diagnosed last year with Hashimoto’s… I know sounds like a cool motorcycle, but it’s a very uncool autoimmune disease. Turns out I’ve been battling it forever. So, once I found out I had an under active thyroid, low testosterone and loads of other endocrine problems I dove into research on fixing it. Turns out diet is the number one way to help autoimmune problems… so as many of you know I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life. Well, this diet eliminates gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, corn, canola oil, and pork… so I had no idea what to eat now. I was stuck. No protein sources. I got fluffy, and I have never had to pay attention to what I eat. I’ve been practicing a bad diet for years. But I had no idea how bad I actually felt! So, with no protein sources I decided to start eating meat. And I needed help. Uncharted territory. And honestly by the grace of God I got a DM from Consistency Breeds Growth asking if I needed help with a diet. Was Instagram reading my mind again?? Lol so I said Hell yes!! I can say that 12 weeks into the program I have completely changed my body composition. I gained muscle, lost fat, but most important I changed my relationship with food. I am now enjoying eating meat, I don’t have to count calories or look at food like it’s something I have to earn. I now look at it as nourishment. When I lost weight in the first two weeks eating more food than I ever had I knew they knew something I didn’t!! I also have to say that I don’t miss being vegetarian at all! “About three years ago my life changed for the better. I met Justin Romaire from Consistency Breeds Growth and he became my nutrition coach. Their intrinsic approach to dieting was all very new to me. I spent most of my energy on these fad diets and quick fixes. I quickly realized that I was just focusing on what the scale said instead of feeding my body what it needed and losing body fat in a safe and productive way. I work 12 hour shifts as an RN and I wasn’t sure when or what I should be eating with a schedule like that (especially when I was working nights). I found myself eating what I could when I could. Having my own blueprint specially made for me and my goals was life changing. I felt better, I was not just eating, I was nourishing my body with what it needed.

I always struggled with gaining back the weight I lost. This is the first time in my life where I was able to lose weight and keep it off. I always have my good days and bad days, but this nutrition program has taught me that it’s not about being “Perfect” it’s about consistency. Having a coach, I can reach out to at any time has been a great thing for me. Any questions I have are immediately answered and I feel supported in my fitness journey 100% of the time. With this programing they don’t just tell you what to do, they teach you so that you can do it all on your own! The first time I spoke with Justing he said, “My goal is not to work with one person forever, the goal is to teach you so that you can do it on your own”. That has always resonated with me.

Recently I decided to also start working with Justin not just on my nutrition but also on my gym performance. He makes me customized workouts that fit to my needs and goals, and workouts that fit to my lifestyle and the resources that I have. Whether I have access full gym, or I need an at home workout a few days a week, he is always there to make changes. Working with Consistency Breeds Growth has been one of the best decisions I have ever made, I have never seen such amazing results and I have never been more confident in my ability to reach my goals. Since working with Kayla Moskey Kramer at CBG CrossFit Nutrition over the past 4 months, I’ve learned how to properly fuel my body with MORE food without obsessing over counting macros. I’m not only the strongest and most fit I’ve ever been in my 6 years of doing CrossFit; but I’m also sleeping and recovering well - I’ve finally been able to overcome a nagging elbow issue. And I have more energy throughout the day - which is huge as I work a full time job and am a mom of two - one being a toddler! I’ve maxed out all of my lifts & all my gymnastics movements have improved (no exaggeration!) - but two big ones: I PR’ed my deadlift by 25 lbs and got my ring muscle ups back - they went missing for a few years! Can’t wait to see the performance gains put to work this year in the Open!
