Six Months in, Courtney Guerriero Sees “Quick and Measurable Results” With CBG

After giving birth to her third child in October, 2023, Courtney Guerriero was having a really hard time keeping her nutrition in check.

“I was struggling, and I wanted to get back to feeling good in my own body,” said the 35-year-old from New Jersey.

“Whatever I was doing just wasn’t working,” she added.

What she was doing was working with a nutrition coach who had her tracking her macros.

“I was doing it, but I wasn’t happy. I was stressed out eating. And my breaking point was being on vacation, a family vacation with all the kids, in-laws, everyone, and I spent a very long time on my phone plugging in everything on the menu to try to stay within my macros,” Guerriero said.

Eventually she became so annoyed that she threw her phone away with two days left in her vacation.

“Screw it, I’m going to eat whatever I want,” she said to herself. “And I came back weighing what I weighed before I left.”

That’s when Guerriero thought to herself, ‘There has to be a better way.’

At the same time, she had been following CBG on social media for a while, taking advantage of their tips and tricks, so she decided to give them a call last June.

The call went well, and Guerriero was teamed up with CBG coach Gabrielle Bolin.

Six Months Later

To say Guerriero is calmer and less stressed than she used to be is an understatement.

“I think about what I’m going to eat, but only to the degree of what is in the fridge that I’m going to put on my plate, and not how does this fit exactly,” she said, adding that she can finally make a plate of food without a scale or a phone, which is incredibly refreshing.

She credits Bolin’s level-headed approach with helping her get to a better place.

Early on, Guerriero was stressed out, as she was going to a BBQ and knew that burgers would be the main thing being served.

“And Gab was like, well, you can have a burger. That’s your meat. Your bun is your carb, and you got coleslaw. You can go to a BBQ,” Guerriero said.

Another time, Guerriero had a pizza and a beer festival she was required to attend, and Bolin was like, “I’m going to tell you what you’re going to do. You’re going to eat pizza and have a beer, and it’s going to be OK.”

Guerriero added: “She is the opposite of an alarmist, which is great, and she really meets you where you’re at…It has been just really stress-free.”

Most recently, Guerriero was headed to Seattle for a work trip and was “freaking out a bit on planning my meals,” she said. Bolin went out of her way to research food options in each airport Guerriero was going to be to help her make the best choices on her travel days.

“It is really a great example of how she supports me every single day,” Guerriero said.

**The result: **Guerriero has seen huge, measurable gains, not just body composition-wise, but also in the gym.

“I weigh less than I did even before I got married. I don’t think I have weighed this much since my early 20s. I’m buying a smaller size of jeans than I wore in my early 20s,” she said.

Guerriero added: “My back is ripped. I can see abs. If I hold up my mom belly, there are abs underneath. I see them at times when the light hits them. I have never had abs before.”

As for her performance in the gym, Guerriero said she is fitter than she was before having her first child.

“My gymnastics is ridiculous…I got [my first] chest-to-bar pull-ups last week. I’m doing deficit handstand push-ups. My toes-to-bar have improved,” she said.

The Big Picture: Life is Better with CBG

All this means that not only is Guerriero happier (and so is her husband now that she’s not on her phone the whole time during meal time), but she also feels like she can be a better mother to her three children.

“Me and my 4-year-old will have snacks at night. And when I was doing macros, if he put his hand into my bowl of nuts, I had to smack it away because, you know, I couldn’t miss a pistachio,” she said, laughing. “And now, he’ll be like, ‘Mommy, do you want to split an apple? And we do.”

She added: “I can engage with my family and still hit my goals, which is fantastic.”

Ultimately, Guerriero feels like the CBG approach is much more doable long-term than her old approach to nutrition.

“It’s working. It has been a lifestyle change with really quick, measurable results. There’s nothing I have to do. To me, it feels effortless,” she said.
