Overcome Nutrition Anxiety - Anikha Greer’s Journey with CBG
Anikha Greer has been competing at a high level since she was 14 years old.
Like many high-level fitness athletes, Greer started paying close attention to her nutrition and how it affected her performance, and eventually went down the macro tracking road.
And, while counting every carbohydrate, protein and fat gram that she ate “definitely had its place in my education in fueling for athletic performance, it wasn’t sustainable for me,” said Greer, now 22.
“It created a lot of anxiety,” she admitted, especially during times when she is balancing a lot more things in life than just training (like moving homes and fostering a dog, as has recently been the case for her).
Further, it required emotional energy and “was more time consuming than you’d initially think,” she added.
Enter CBG
Six months ago, Greer signed up with CBG and started working with coach Amanda Jeffrey, and it has made a huge difference for Greer already, as it has taken the stress out of nutrition entirely.
“I just follow Amanda’s suggestions and guidelines and I know I’m fueling myself right,” Greer said.
She added: “It’s great because I know I have someone behind the scenes doing the math for me and making sure I’m getting enough of what I need, but the direct stress isn’t put on me.”
Further, the CBG blueprint method, unlike tracking macros, allows for much-needed flexibility, “because even as athletes we can’t control everything all the time,” she said.
Ultimately, Greer said working with Jeffrey in the last six months had really helped her become confident knowing she’s doing the right thing.
“The biggest thing that has changed since working with Amanda and CBG is the confidence I have in fueling and in my support system,” she said.
“Oh, and I eat more veggies, cause I know she’s keeping me accountable,” she added.
The Result: Since working with Jeffrey, Greer said she has had “a lot of strength PRs without almost any strength work, so definitely staying strong and fed enough to keep the strength gains coming.”
She added: “Emotionally and mentally, the confidence I have in how much I’m eating and my fueling strategies has gone up a lot.”
And while Greer is an elite athlete in her sport, she is adamant CBG isn’t just for elite athletes.
“I would 100 percent recommend CBG to anyone, whether they’re elite athletes or someone trying to feel better inside and out. Being able to have faith in your nutrition without scanning the barcode of everything you eat is priceless,” she said.
